To build on previous events, a joint PIA/ NZPI event was held at the Savoy Tup on Wednesday 26th September and was a resounding success! A strong turn out was guaranteed with John Burton, Director of Development at Westfield guest speaking. John gave an insightful talk on the challenges he’s encountered since entering the UK market, and the differences experienced in the development control system, and in realizing large-scale schemes in both Australia and the UK.

Cobalt will continue to sponsor these events as it promotes an excellent support network for planners of all levels and disciplines working in the UK.

PIA and NZPI UK will continue to organise events jointly with more guest speakers from a variety of backgrounds, to engage in discussion about the different approaches international planners can take in shaping the future of our communities, and how we can best learn from other planning systems, and other fields of the development industry and built environment.
