Civil Engineer / Operations Manager - Queenstown

Ref: CMo1269344
New Zealand, Canterbury
Construction & Engineering, Civil & Structural
31st August 2016
Job Type

The Company:
This New Zealand based firm is a multi-disciplinary planning, design, and project management practice. They are a key player in the development space, with iconic property development and resort projects in the Southern Lakes region and throughout the country.

The Opportunity:
This is a unique opportunity in that you’ll be working for the property developer as opposed to an engineering consultancy. You will be in charge of managing key service contractors who oversee the roading and three waters design, along with gas, electricity and telecom operations. Other responsibilities will include management of open space (walking tracks and vegetation) as will as ensuring local bylaws are adhered to. You will ultimately be in charge of controlling project spending within a predetermined budget.

About you:
• Sound knowledge of infrastructure design for large land development projects – specifically three waters and roading design experience.
• Experience with asset and contract management.
• Exceptional communicator both written and verbal.
• Comfortable working autonomously and liaising with contractors.

If you’re interested in stepping into a role where you would have a deeper involvement in projects and the ability to be part of the decision making process for a business, please get in touch to discuss further. We will not send your CV to anyone we haven’t first discussed over the phone.

Alternatively, if this isn’t exactly what you’re after, get in touch for a confidential conversation to discuss what you are looking for. As an engineer turned recruiter, I’ll be able to better understand your experience and help guide you through the local job market.

Cobalt’s Christchurch Team operates across the full spectrum of professional engineering and construction roles.

Applicants for this position should have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa.

If this role is not of interest, please feel free to register with your cv so you can be considered for any roles as soon as they become available. Alternatively, you can also register for job alerts via email.
