Regional Maintenance Surveyor

Flexible location North West or Yorkshire

Up to £45,000 plus benefits.

This is an excellent opportunity for a capable Regional Maintenance Surveyor to work for an expanding Student Accommodation Provider. Joining a dedicated team, the Maintenance Surveyor's role will be to manage compliance across a UK wide portfolio.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Manage property maintenance & compliance budget
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety, statutory and HMO licensing requirements
  • Develop and manage a team of directly employed Maintenance Managers
  • Manage planned, preventative & lifecycle maintenance
  • Ensure reactive maintenance is completed cost effectively and to a consistently high standard
  • Organise, procure and manage annual maintenance and compliance for tenancy handover
  • Procure and manage work undertaken by external contractors
  • Undertake stock condition surveys. Prepare short, medium & lifecycle plans and maintain asset register
  • Value works and approve invoices for payment
  • Provide excellent customer service & resolve escalated complaints
  • Lead property energy management & support house specification development
  • Manage third party out of hours service provider
  • Performance reporting

It is anticipated that the appointed candidate will possess the following experience & skills:

  • Building related degree with RICS or other relevant professional qualification
  • Proven track record in the housing/HMO/student housing sectors
  • Strong leadership & team management skills
  • Strong budget management credentials & accountability
  • KPI & SLA target management experience
  • Good technical knowledge of housing H&S legislation and application (gas, fire & electrical safety; HMO licensing)
  • Thorough understanding of housing defects & maintenance solutions
  • Advanced communication & reporting skills
  • Strong relationship management skills (customers, contractors & other stakeholders)
  • Proactive approach and able to work on own initiative at fast pace
  • Excellent organisation & time management skills
  • Full UK driving licence required along with satisfactory references & DBS check
