A continuously growing workload for our client in North Yorkshire means they are seeking a Senior Planner to further strengthen the planning team.

The Senior Planner will be joining an established multi-disciplinary consultancy working with a variety of clients that include developers, land owners, commercial businesses and Local Authorities. The planning team is already firmly established within the region and has an excellent reputation across Yorkshire for delivering high-quality planning advice and achieving approval for a wide range of applications including much residential development.

Typical duties of the Senior Planner include:

  • Preparing and progressing applications through the planning system
  • Liaising with Planning Officers pre, during and post-application
  • Preparing Design & Access Statements, Planning Statements and other relevant documentation
  • Provide ad hoc town planning advice
  • Undertaking site assessments

Further Senior Planner duties will include the mentoring of junior team members and taking greater responsibility for larger and more complex projects.

The ideal Senior Planner will have relevant planning experience, preferably including previous responsibility for leading and managing a range of projects. Chartered membership of the RTPI is required for the position of Senior Planner and you will be a confident communicator and able to liaise effectively with clients, planning officers and colleagues.
