I have been responsible for managing Office and Retail assets across the UK and Central London, with a total market value of circa £900 million.

My principal responsibility is the identification and completion of real estate asset management initiatives which include leasing, refurbishment, development, and investment disposals.

My role involves:

  • Formulation and implementation of business plans; Excel cashflow modelling to assess the impact of various management approaches on the value and to allow informed decision making.
  • Asset Management Committee; presentation of opportunities and the making of management recommendations to the Asset Management Committee, including supporting information and justification to assist in the committee’s decision making.
  • Refurbishments; managing comprehensive office refurbishment projects with a value of £8million to date. Including overseeing a full professional team comprising project manager, architect, cost consultant, and main contractor.
  • Developments; managing a full professional team to produce fully costed and specified designs, and leading negotiations with local authorities to achieve planning consents. Give an example – including size, value, location
  • Leasing; formulating leasing and rent review strategy, appointing and managing leasing agents, leading tenant negotiations. Examples include…. Give examples including location, square footage leased, totally size of building including asset type.
  • Recommending disposals and managing sales process; advising on the timing and return possibilities of potential disposals, managing the due diligence process, working closely with lawyers and ensuring that all parties work to required timescales.   • Distressed asset disposals; working closely with financing banks to facilitate and manage disposals of distressed assets with a value of £xx million. An example was…
  • Reporting; drafting and producing Asset updates for investors and board. Maintaining regular dialogue with financing banks to provide timely updates on assets. This requires excellent written and verbal communication skills and an understanding of the importance of good time management.

  • Carried out rotations in Retail Agency, Development, Investment, Landlord & Tenant and Valuation.
  • Involved in the letting of numerous high street units across the country on behalf of Land Securities and Invista Real Estate Investment Management.
  • Examining the feasibility of potential development sites and providing general agency advice to clients.
  • Involved in various investment sales during my training period including the disposal of an office block in Guilford for £2.3m – disposal reports, cashflows and IRR analysis.
  • Carried out successful rent reviews on three units for Industrial Estate in Swindon on behalf of Leading Fund Manager.
  • Assisted on various loan security valuations across a wide range of commercial properties. The most notable projects being a large distribution warehouse on behalf of Barclays Capital and International Finance fund, and a Central London office on behalf of Lloyds and Minerva.


  • Computer literate on Circle Investor/Developer, ProDev and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Extensive use of property databases such as, Focus, Egi, GOAD, Promap and PROMIS.
  • RYA Qualified Day and Coastal Skipper.
  • Member of the Reading Real Estate Foundation.
