Building Superintendent

Site Superintendent (Bilingual)

Location: Mount Vernon, NY (Gated Campus)

Compensation: $60,000 - $85,000 annually (Live-in potential available)

Key Responsibilities

• Perform and oversee general building maintenance across the campus, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and appliance repair
• Conduct daily walkthroughs and building inspections; identify and address maintenance issues promptly
• Respond to tenant maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner
• Coordinate with the Property Manager and third-party vendors on larger repair and capital projects
• Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of common areas, mechanical rooms, and exterior grounds
• Monitor and maintain building systems (boilers, elevators, fire safety equipment) and ensure compliance with inspection schedules
• Communicate effectively with English- and Spanish-speaking residents and staff
• Maintain logs of completed work orders, inspections, and vendor activity
• Support move-in/move-out processes and unit turnover preparation

Qualifications

• Minimum 2-3 years of experience as a building superintendent or maintenance technician, preferably in residential housing
• Bilingual in English and Spanish - required
• Working knowledge of building systems: plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general carpentry
• Experience in affordable housing, senior housing, or multi-family residential communities preferred
• NYC / NYS boiler certification or similar trade certifications a plus
• Ability to be on-call for after-hours emergencies
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and a resident-first attitude
• Must be comfortable working across two buildings on a shared campus

Compensation & Benefits

Salary range: $60,000 - $85,000 annually, commensurate with experience. A live-in unit may be available on-site. Benefits to be discussed during the interview process.
