Civil Engineer, Site Development & Land Use

Pay: $65,000 - $85,000, commensurate with experience

A multidisciplinary civil engineering, surveying, and construction management firm serving clients across New Jersey and the New York metro area is hiring a Civil Engineer to support its site/civil design and land development practice. You'll assist with permitting, planning, and design across stormwater management, grading and drainage, utility design, and construction administration, and get hands-on with AutoCAD Civil 3D drawings, engineering calculations, and site inspections. This is an in-person, career-track role at a growing firm with real room to advance.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of project deliverables, including AutoCAD Civil 3D drawings, engineering calculations, reports, and technical specifications
• Support permit acquisition, land development planning and design, stormwater management, grading and drainage design, and utility design
• Perform periodic construction site inspections, including contract conformance inspections, SWPPP inspections, and existing site conditions assessments
• Collaborate with engineers and surveyors on multi-discipline project teams
• Communicate directly with clients, project teams, and contractors throughout design and construction
• Manage time, scheduling, and priorities across multiple active projects

Required Qualifications

• S. in Civil Engineering
• 2+ years of relevant stormwater and site development design, construction, and permitting experience
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Familiarity with local ordinance codes and state stormwater management design manuals
• Familiarity with municipal permitting processes
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred

• M.S. in Civil Engineering
