About the Role
Position Summary
The Project Manager is responsible for leading residential multifamily construction projects from pre-construction through closeout, ensuring that all deliverables are completed on time, within budget, and in alignment with quality standards and safety. This role requires strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, as well as the ability to manage multiple stakeholders, including clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day management of multifamily construction projects, from planning to delivery.
- Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and scopes of work.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and consultants to ensure seamless project execution.
- Monitor job site performance for safety, quality, and adherence to plans and specifications.
- Lead project meetings with stakeholders to provide progress updates and resolve issues.
- Manage procurement of materials, equipment, and subcontractor services.
- Ensure compliance with NYC building codes, safety regulations, and internal standards.
- Identify risks, troubleshoot challenges, and implement proactive solutions.
- Oversee project documentation including contracts, change orders, RFIs, and closeout packages.
- Mentor and support assistant project managers and project engineers.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 10+ years of experience in construction project management, preferably in multifamily residential or affordable housing.
- Successful delivery of ground-up construction projects across all phases, particularly in mixed-use residential high-rise developments in NYC.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, scheduling software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, Procore), and budgeting tools.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate across teams and with diverse stakeholders.
- Familiarity with NYC building codes, DOB regulations, and affordable housing requirements is highly desirable.
