About the Role
Construction Superintendent
Bergen County, NJ (In-Office)
We are seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent based in Bergen County, NJ.
The Construction Superintendent will oversee all aspects of multiple construction sites, including managing self-perform work, coordinating subcontractors, ensuring project quality and safety, maintaining schedules, and resolving field issues as they arise. This role also ensures compliance with building codes and regulations and that projects are completed on time and within budget.

Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
- Prepare agendas for weekly subcontractor meetings
- Develop and manage detailed construction schedules prepared by the Project Manager
- Monitor project progress against schedule and budget
- Coordinate deliveries of materials and equipment
- Conduct regular site inspections and review subcontractor work for quality
- Conduct daily site safety meetings and toolbox talks; ensure documentation compliance
- Lead and supervise on-site crews, including foremen and subcontractors
- Coordinate construction activities with other site superintendents
- Manage daily activities of field laborers / punch list laborers
- Maintain detailed daily logs and progress reports
- Communicate effectively with Project Managers, clients, subcontractors, and stakeholders
- Ensure project requirements are met across multiple jobs
- Serve as a principal point of contact on-site and ensure deadlines are achieved
- Identify and address potential issues promptly
- Ensure all workers have proper safety equipment and training
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience as a Construction Superintendent
- Strong ground-up vertical construction experience (residential, commercial, and public work)
- Some experience with self-perform work (site work preferred)
- OSHA 30 required (minimum)
- Proficient in reading construction drawings and interpreting project details
- Strong understanding of construction methods and building codes
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to handle unexpected challenges
- Proficient with scheduling software and project management tools
- Must be available to work weekends
