Accountant

Cobalt is recruiting for a fully integrated real estate developer in New York. The Staff Accountant will report to the director of accounting and will be an integral part of the team's growth.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Full cycle accounts receivable, including preparation of monthly invoices and maintaining customer and vendor records.
• Accounts payable, including paying vendors by scheduling paychecks and ensuring payment is received for outstanding credit.
• Multiple bank reconciliations for depository accounts.
• Prepare bi-weekly and semi-monthly payroll, billing back to projects accordingly.
• Maintaining billable expenses and bills by various classes.
• Gathering all necessary data for vendor onboarding, Compiling and filing 1099's at year-end for all applicable entities.
• Preparing analyses of accounts and producing monthly reports.
• Conduct periodic reconciliations of funds to ensure their accuracy.
• Issue and review financial statements, including A/P aging, income statement, balance sheet and statement of cash flows, and inter-company payables/receivables.
• Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements.

Experience, Skills, and Abilities Required

• 1 - 2 years prior real estate industry experience a plus
• Minimum Associate's degree in accounting or business administration or another similar field
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and QuickBooks experience as a must
• Knowledge of bookkeeping and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
• Ability to keep records and files organized; keen attention to detail

The fair market assumption for this role is between $70,000- $100,000 annually.
