Assistant Superintendent

A top ranked ENR General Contractor is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to support construction activity of ground-up Assisted/Senior Living facilities. This position requires on-site supervision and coordination of all field operations to successfully complete a project.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the implementation and enforcement of safety requirements
  • Maintain a working knowledge of all project plans and related documentation; specifications, contracts, purchase orders, correspondence, shop drawings, submittals
  • Develop, coordinate and implement the project schedule and project procedures
  • Document construction activities through daily reports and photographs
  • Assist total construction effort to ensure project is constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule.
  • Plan, coordinate and supervise all on site functions including scheduling, material control, quality control, trade coordination and construction methods
  • Provide technical assistance, interpretation of drawings, recommending construction sequencing, means, methods and equipment as required
  • Ensure all on-site personnel comply with project procedures and OSHA safety requirements, documenting all violations, implementing corrective actions as required
  • Assume responsibility for productivity of trades, efficient use of materials & equipment and contractual performance of the project
  • Supervise trade employees and/or other contractors as required by the contract
  • Complete, maintain and submit all required reports, logs, inspections, punch lists and other documentation associated with the project utilizing Procore Construction Management Software


  • 2+ years of construction experience with projects valued up to $20 Million.
  • Multi-family residential projects preferred
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret construction documents and contracts.
  • Knowledge of the construction process including scheduling, contract administration, equipment, and manpower.
  • Working knowledge of construction related software (Procore, Primavera, Microsoft Office)
  • Must be physically able to navigate the rigors of an ongoing building construction site
