Assistant Superintendent - NYC

Our client is a well-established General Contractor specializing in commercial projects from full buildouts and renovations to large scale new constructions. They are looking for a talented Assistant Site Superintendent to assist with new and existing financial institution renovations.

The role:

• Assist the superintendent with interior fit-out projects, including supervising laborers and day to day work
• Maintain a managerial presence on job sites from the start of the day to the end.
• Supervise efficient working of all construction specifications and ensure compliance with all record drawings.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and consultants.
• Coordinate with company personnel and clients to resolve all project issues and provide a response to all requests.
• Perform labor on job site as necessary
• Handle material safety data sheets' current listing for controlled products on plant site
• Handle site management of health and safety programs.
• Site super one site at a time - Job sites in the NYC, Brooklyn, Queens, Bronx, LI, and NJ area

The person:

• Must have at least 2 years of experience in Commercial construction.
• Must be able to work nights and weekends - paid overtime
• A background in carpentry is a plus.
• The ability to establish documents and procedures that focus on site safety.
• First class references, strong leadership and the ability to handle multiple tasks with a team focused, proactive mentality.
• Strong problem-solving skills, exceptional attention to detail and ability to work in a fast paced environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to take initiative and responsibility for assigned tasks.
