Building Engineer - Facilities Maintenance

Job Summary

Seeking a building engineer who will work with a team of engineers, facilities personnel, office staff, and tenants to help support a 500,000+ square foot commercial building. Will operate and maintain centrifugal chiller and a 1,000-ton centrifugal chiller. Will perform daily functions of maintaining and operating regulation of airflow for HVAC systems, troubleshooting air handler units, electrical, air circulation, and chiller operations. Will oversee facilities team in daily tasks and long-term projects. Will respond to tenant complaints in timely manner and troubleshoot long-term solutions to tenant complaints.

Expertise and experience in commercial construction, maintenance, operations; in HVAC, high-pressure boiler operations, building control systems, and water treatment required.

Knowledge of government regulations and familiarity with government filings in addition to handling & inspecting, maintaining, troubleshooting/diagnosing, and repairing equipment, systems, and machinery in good workmanlike manner, while maintaining OSHA guidelines.

Required Skills

Refrigeration License (Q99 and/or Q01) issued by the New York City Fire Department.

Preferred Skills

• S-12 Supervision of Citywide Sprinkler Systems
• S-13 Supervision of Citywide Standpipe System/Multizone
• Air Compressor Operator Certificate
• EPA Universal Certification
• Fire & Life Safety Director Certification
• Experience with Cleaver-Brooks boilers
