Construction GAAP Accountant

Our client is a mechanical contractor based in Westchester County, with projects throughout NY, including: Westchester, Manhattan and Brooklyn. They are look to add a Senior Construction Accountant to their office located at their headquarters in Westchester County. To be considered, you must have the following:

Job Responsibilities:

• Execute monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables (journal entries, reconciliations, reports) in compliance with GAAP

• Verify, allocate, post and reconcile accounts payable and receivable

• Work closely with team members to assist with the billing for our Installations, Service and Controls departments

• Perform monthly bank reconciliations for operating, merchant, and payroll accounts

• Prepare and post all monthly journal entries including investment, payroll, prepaid, accruals, fixed assets depreciation, and some costs allocation

• Reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly

• Review all expense reports for accuracy and proper expense coding and classification

• Perform other related tasks as assigned

Required skills:

• Experience with construction accounting

• Must be a quick learner

• Must have excellent communication skills

• Must be extremely organized

• Must be able to work independently

• Excel experience

Preferred but not required:

• CPA background and experience with construction accounting

• Quickbooks, Sage Intacct, or Sage 300 experience

• Experience with ADP Workforce now

• Experience with Elations software

Compensation

• Base salary + benefits and bonus potential
