Controller

Cobalt is recruiting for a Controller for a growing architecture firm in lower Manhattan. This role allows candidates to speak with partners, make an impact on internal controls process, and aid in the hiring process.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the accounting and financial reporting.

• Manage the activities of staff related to finances.

• Review and process payroll.

• Prepare the budget and economic forecasts, and report variances.

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual operating budgets and cash flow projections.

• Provide quality control on all General Ledger accounts, checking the work of all staff.

• Meet with Project Managers monthly to review project invoicing, schedules, profitability, sub-consultant fees, and payables, and update project status in Ajera.

• Work with the bookkeeper on month-end cleanup

• Prepare monthly financial statements.

• Interface with the firm accountant, including review of monthly reports.

• Communicate with management on financial metrics, including weekly meetings with partners, and monthly financial overview with senior leadership team.

• Participate in the development of, and provide support for, the firm's strategic plans.

Required:

• Strong organizational and communication with the ability to work independently.

• A strong understanding of accounting, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, project forecasting and budgeting, and contracts.

• Knowledge of the A/E industry.

• Proficiency in Ajera / Deltek software package.

• A degree in business administration or accounting

The Fair market Assumption for this role's base salary is between $100,000 and $130,000 annually.

The above salary range represents Cobalt's good faith and reasonable estimate of the possible base compensation range at the time of posting. It is one part of the total rewards package this client provides to employees.
