MEP Director

Full service Engineering and Architectural firm specializing in the MEP system design and upgrades for new and existing NYC residential and commercial buildings. This role will provide oversight for various projects including Heating Plants, Chiller & Cooling Towers, HVAC Units, Cogeneration Plants, Switchgear and Distribution Systems, and Physical Condition Assessments.

Responsibilities:

• Leadership of engineering staff managing team and project profitability, quality, and scheduling. Engage with clients as the main point of contact, ensuring successful completion of projects within proposed budget and schedule.
• Facilitate increased productivity for Team Members and Team as a whole
• Review contractual obligations with Project Manager and develop project budgets and time lines.
• Monitor project phases and budgets, identify trends in billing and report regularly on the same to the Mgmt Team.
• Anticipate trajectory of workload and assign new jobs accordingly
• Perform quality assurance on all projects within the Team, facilitate the involvement of Specialists, Directors, Management and/or Principal when appropriate.
• Implement methods of professional development for individuals, Engineering Studio, and company as a whole
• Help define goals for various aspects of the company, implement Office Initiatives and Procedures.

Requirements:

• PE (NY State) in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering
• Experience with fire protection design and hydraulic calculations
• NYC Energy Code, ASHRAE Level 2 Energy Audits
• HVAC, Electrical Service/Switchgear, Plumbing, and Cogeneration Applications
