Title: MEP Estimator

Location: New York, NY

Our client is a well-established, Construction management firm specializing in commercial and multifamily construction services throughout New York City and the New Jersey area. As they see continued growth, they are looking to add an experienced and dedicated MEP Estimator to assist in bidding and winning projects in New York and New Jersey area.

The Role:

  • To leverage field experience, industry knowledge and solid analytic skills to prepare accurate quantity take-offs. Specific tasks include:
  • Prepare take-off & pricing for a variety of commercial and public construction opportunities, by reviewing, interpreting, and accurately estimating scope of work as outlined in project documents
  • Pilot thorough analysis of drawings and specifications by researching selected products from a cost and constructability perspective
  • Attend Pre-bid meetings where value engineering options and costs, as well as estimating productions and scheduling are provided and presented
  • Prepare bid packages, obtain bids from subcontractors and material vendors, and analyze bids from subcontractors and material vendors.
  • Perform detailed project cost estimate using company estimating software
  • Provide monthly cost analysis for all active preconstruction assignments and manage to preconstruction department budgets.
  • Work collaboratively with owner and Project Managers to ensure flawless project delivery.

The Person:

ONLY candidates that can display the following experience and qualities will be considered:

  • Must have MEP experience
  • At least 5+ years of General Contracting estimating experience
  • Commercial experience is a plus
  • Highly proficient in industry specific software, such as Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff & Excel
  • First class references, strong leadership and communication skills and a can do, team focused proactive mentality.
  • Demonstrated success in managing or potential to manage preconstruction process for projects.
  • Demonstrated competency in the areas: estimating, scheduling, budgeting/cost control, financial reporting, client relationship, interpersonal skills, computer skills, ability to communicate, both written and oral, leadership and organizational skills.
