A vital Project Accountant role has arisen with a Midtown-based National General Contractor. The Project Accountant will be responsible for AIA Billing, Job cost review, and ensuring correct monthly financials. The ideal candidate will have experience with another General Contractor.

Responsibilities:

  • Create invoicing for multiple entities with similar services.

  • Monitor the status of existing projects in the accounting system.

  • Effectively communicate with Project Managers regarding contract documents, change orders, and other contract modifications, approvals, and any additional service related to billing.

  • Compile, analyze, & process a high volume of project bills to clients on a monthly basis.

  • Work closely with project managers to ensure that invoices are accurate and comply with corporate guidelines.

  • Review weekly field timesheets to ensure they have been submitted and approved before invoicing.

  • Coordinate with subcontractors to receive certified payroll reports.

  • Maintained project billing folder and accounting system (SAGE300 & PROCORE) to ensure all invoices and other project-related documents were readily accessible for project managers & accounting department.

  • Communicate professionally with project managers, clients, and other staff, providing accurate information and timely responses to inquiries and completing assignments.

  • Investigate billing errors and resolve discrepancies.

  • Prepare various monthly billing & supporting reports.

  • Monitor accounts & take appropriate actions with customers to arrange for payment, issue monthly statements & bill items as per proposals.

  • Reviews and ensures accuracy of vendor invoices prior to billing clients.

Qualifications:

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance or a similar field.

  • 1-3 years of billing experience in Construction contracting related industries

  • AIA experience preferred

  • NYC and NYS Agency billing preferred

  • Sage 300 & PROCROE experience preferred

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

The Fair market Assumption for this role's base salary is between $65000 and $80000 annually.

The above salary range represents Cobalt's good faith and reasonable estimate of the possible base compensation range at the time of posting and is one part of the total rewards package this client provides to employees.
