Our client is a nationally ranked leader with pre-construction, general construction and construction management services specializing in large scale public projects. They are seeking Project Manager at the junior level to work on existing and upcoming projects at LaGuardia Airport in Queens NY.

The role:

  • Assist the Senior Project Manager with managing all construction activities on the project site while ensuring compliance with contract documents including the internal policies and procedures related to the project.
  • Initiate meetings with owners and subcontractors to get a better understanding of project status and complications.
  • Manage all projects from concept to completion and supervise project management team to ensure they be held to a high standard.
  • Forecast and track the amount of labor, managerial and material costs necessary to complete a project
  • Perform project status reviews by monitoring project schedule, submittal/RFI logs and open items
  • Be able to make decisions regarding workforce, project assignments and hiring additional employees.

The Person:

  • A bachelor's degree in Civil, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering is preferred, a bachelor's in construction management is a plus
  • 2-5 years of previous experience as a Project Manager, APM or similar role is preferred
  • Experience with projects in the NY public sector preferred
  • Be willing to fully participate in job assignments at the job site to which assigned
  • Willingness to commute to LaGuardia Airport in Queens, NY
  • Have ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Strong work ethic - willing to do what it takes to get the job done
  • Have ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Critical thinking skills necessary with the ability to plan ahead and conceptualize
