Title: Traveling Superintendent/Project Manager

Location: Upstate New York (Rochester/Buffalo/Syracuse)

Compensation: $80,000 to $120,000 Base + Bonus + Benefits

Our client is a veteran owned full service general construction firm, specializing in multi-faceted projects for public and private clients. Their extensive portfolio consists of interior build-outs, full renovations and ground up new construction ranging from $100,000 to $20M. They are seeking a traveling superintendent/project manager to run multiple projects throughout upstate New York (Rochester/Buffalo/Syracuse).

The Role:

  • The Superintendent/Project Manager is responsible for managing the daily operations of multiple construction crews and subcontractors, while they are engaged in commercial construction projects.

  • Plan and manage construction projects, and make sure they are completed on time, meet the needs of the client and stay within budget

  • Create timelines; and determine costs and resources needed

  • Generate a detailed plan and schedule for each stage of the project

  • Report the project progress to senior managers and the client

  • Manage risks and manage to avoid delays

  • Give direction to your supervisors, crews, delegating and assigning tasks to team as required

  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with the Customer's construction standards, processes, and procedures

  • Ensure accurate and complete files are maintained for projects and appropriate closeout documents are distributed in a timely manner and are in accordance with corporate and customer standards

  • Complete performance management functions, disciplinary actions, performance reviews and ongoing development of team

  • Assist in customer invoicing, and help ensure invoices are submitted accurately and timely

  • Be your team's "expert" and "go to" resource; spending time in the field to understand, improve and build your team

  • Build and maintain positive relationships with utilities, clients, permitting agencies and government officials as needed

  • Keep safety as your #1 priority for each of your team members: adhering to company safety standards and all federal, state and local laws

  • While performing some duties, the employee will work primarily in an office setting

The Person:

  • Self-sufficient Project Manager and Superintendent that has experience with bidding, project management and field supervision aspects of construction

  • 10 years direct experience working for a general contractor as a project manager and superintendent

  • Resourceful, with great problem-solving skills

  • Strong understanding of all trades in ground up and renovation projects

  • Strong experience managing project budgets, financial projections and invoicing

  • Experience with bidding public/government projects

  • Subcontractor buyout, writing scopes, scope reviews and project coordination

  • Collaboration with project owner, design and project team required

  • Strong experience with running client meetings

  • Skillset in generating RFIs and reviewing submittals

  • Experience in running successful weekly foremen meetings and running an efficient site workforce

  • Experience with managing subcontractors and coordinating material and equipment delivery

  • Upholding all federal and local safety standards

  • Generating three-week look ahead schedules and streamlining overall project schedule

  • OSHA 30 preferred

  • Willingness to travel across Upstate New York.

$80,000 - $120,000 Base + Benefits + Bonus
