Purchasing Manager

Real Estate Development firm specializing in multifamily and mixed-use properties is looking to add to it's in-house Construction team. The Purchasing Manager will execute pre-construction planning through efficient value engineering, estimating, and procurement.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Development team by performing take-offs, estimates, bid analysis, and negotiating change orders

  • Procurement of cost-effective materials necessary for project completion

  • Coordinate with vendors, subcontractors, engineers, and architects to assure that project details are aligned with project specifications

  • Manage the construction procurement schedule, reporting, and job costs and variances

  • Review architectural and engineering documents for design deficiencies, and recommend alternate solutions

  • Maintain project buy out report and assist in budget preparation.

  • Establish and adhere to Policies and Procedures.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience within a residential Development or Construction company

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Construction Management, or related field

  • Established knowledge of technical construction processes:

    • Estimating, Specifications, Bidding, Contract Negotiation

  • Familiarity with the value of construction materials and the associated costs of work performed

  • Capable of identifying ways to obtain significant savings, increase productivity, and increase revenue
