A growing affordable housing developer is looking for a Senior Accountant to join the team in Westchester County. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for preparing GAAP financial reports and operating budgets for the tax credit limited partnerships and other owned properties and managing the annual filing of all tax returns.

Responsibilities:

  • Process monthly general ledger closing, prepare to adjust journal entries, and update all monthly work papers, including fixed asset and depreciation, insurance expense, and other accrued expenses
  • Reconcile intercompany accounts for all partnerships and submit reimbursements
  • Prepare and review monthly bank reconciliations
  • Prepare annual operating budgets and perform variance analysis monthly
  • Analyze outstanding tenant accounts and prepare bad debt analysis
  • Prepare quarterly (or monthly) limited partner reports for each tax credit project
  • Interface with the auditor to prepare annual audit and tax returns
  • Manage tax return filings to ensure timely filing of corporate and non-profit returns
  • Review development project closing legal documents, review construction in progress schedules, and prepare accounting entries as necessary
  • Prepare monthly grant reimbursement vouchers and prepare all related journal entries and accruals.
  • Monitor grant budget spending and prepare budget modification requests as needed.
  • Support the Director of Accounting with the preparation of monthly corporate work papers, including but not limited to insurance, depreciation, management fees, accrued expenses, debt service, etc.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance
  • CPA or MBA a plus
  • 3-5 years of related experience with property management or non-profit accounting
  • Experience with MRI experience is a plus
  • Covid 19 vaccine required.

The Fair market assumption for this role is between $80,000 - $90,000

The above salary range represents Cobalt's good faith and reasonable estimate of the possible base compensation range at the time of posting and is one part of the total rewards package this client provides to employees.
