A growing not-for-profit based in Manhattan is looking to add a Senior Accountant to their team. The ideal candidate will have experience in Grant Accounting, Sage Intacct, and creating financial Statements.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensure accounting is performed in accordance with GAAP and update the monthly close schedules for financial compliance.
Review financial statements for accuracy during each close and highlight any issues to the Assistant Controller.
Oversee all Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Bank reconciliations, and balance sheet reconciliations
Support the assistant controller in driving the annual audit process; oversee the preparation of schedules for the annual audits, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of delivery; review all statements and support liaising with the auditors
Support business processes and accounting policies and prepare corresponding documentation
Deliver exceptional, friendly customer service by researching and resolving accounting-related inquiries in a timely and professional manner
Create and analyze liability, asset, and capital accounts by compiling electronic data and required documentation
Maintaining and reconciling balance sheet and general ledger accounts
Investigating and resolving audit findings, account discrepancies, and issues of non-compliance
Contributing to the development of new or amended accounting systems, programs, and procedures
Comply with all federal, state, and local protocols, including legal requirements
Perform other related duties and projects as requested
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:
Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 5 years of work experience in non-profit accounting required
CPA and/or MBA preferred
Meticulous attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality of information required
Flexible with a strong work ethic and an entrepreneurial spirit to accommodate multiple priorities
Proficiency using Microsoft Office products with strong Excel skills and an aptitude for learning new software required
Ability to work with little to no supervision
Experience utilizing Sage Intacct and compatible accounting software preferred.
Experience working in non-profit accounting is strongly preferred.
The Fair market Assumption for this role's base salary is between $85,000 and $100,000 annually.
The above salary range represents Cobalt's good faith and reasonable estimate of the possible base compensation range at the time of posting and is one part of the total rewards package this client provides to employees.
