Title: Senior Development Coordinator

Location: Trenton, NJ

The Sr. Development Coordinator will be responsible for providing support to the VP of Development overseeing an Affordable Housing portfolio for a National RE Developer. Responsibilities include real estate development operation from originations support to project award through predevelopment, construction closing, construction completion and lease-up through conversion. The SDC also provides critical analytical support to the originations team through data-driven analysis of the competitive landscape, as well as through research on market conditions, geographic searches, municipal codes and plans, parcel data, etc. Once a project is identified and funded, the SDC supports the project management team with all manner of due diligence and financial underwriting along the critical path to closing, through construction, until the project reaches its operational phase.

The Role:

  • Support in all due diligence activities relating to development opportunities, including analyzing potential sites, market analysis, financial underwriting, schematic design, and engineering, etc.
  • Improve and implement operational and maintenance protocols
  • Coordinate and oversee construction for progress reports, quality of work, and accurate invoicing
  • Develop/maintain/execute capital improvement plans
  • Attend and/or conduct monthly maintenance staff meetings
  • Coordinate facility upgrades, construction projects, and lease renewals
  • Analyze energy system efficiencies

The Person:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Real Estate, Finance/Accounting, Construction, or Architecture & Engineering
  • 3-5 years in the Real Estate sector, affordable housing experience preferred
  • Experience coordinating capital improvements
  • Understanding of construction documents and ability to analyze building systems
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products and related software.
  • Familiarity with energy efficient building solutions
