Senior Director, Capital and Redevelopment
Location: West Coast, USA
Our client is a Nationally ranked Real Estate Asset Management business specializing in multifamily housing. With a diverse portfolio with over 400 multifamily properties across the US, they are looking to add a Senior Director of Capital and Redevelopment to run their West Coast division.
The Role:
Primary responsibilities include identifying, planning, and executing value-add investment projects in the West Coast region.
Leads the implementation of capital strategy in the multi-family sector, in order to maximize the operational and financial performance of acquired properties, achieve acquisition pro-forma objectives, enhance the asset and its value and enhance the customer Lifestyle experience.
Initiate redevelopment project discovery and scoping with Asset Management, Operations, Construction Services, Marketing, Revenue Mgmt., etc.
Leads the design and project management of capital improvements, including conceptual development, budgeting, timing, scoping work.
Leads, trains, develops, motivates, and evaluates direct reports in order to develop and maintain a high level of employee commitment and competence for sustained and self-reliant performance and achievement of department goals.
The Person:
Minimum of 15 years in a similar role or a combination of the following: real estate development/redevelopment, architecture/design, asset management or investment strategy within the multi-family sector.
Experience working at a publicly traded real estate, institutional financial services, or public/private equity firm preferred. In addition, experience in REIT performance metrics and reporting.
Experience in a management or leadership role in property management or operations, as it related to capital and redevelopment success.
Bachelor's degree required, MBA preferred in related field, including architecture, economics, business or finance
Strong work ethic, and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Strong multifamily real estate investment knowledge.
Prior experience with investment modeling, budgeting/forecasting and underlying drivers of operational, financial and cash flow performance.
Willing and able to travel extensively, about 2-3 weeks per month to various sites across the West Coast.
