A newly created Senior Vice President - Capital Strategies role has arisen with a rapidly growing financial services institution, which focuses on key investments within the affordable housing/multifamily sector. Partnering closely with the CFO & Board, this business-critical position will form an integral part of the senior leadership team driving the structuring of capital to promote growth for the organization. The position is centrally located in Manhattan and offers the flexibility of a hybrid working model.
About the Senior Vice President - Capital Strategies role:
Key responsibilities:
Working with the leadership team to ensure capitalization is optimal and capital is available
Delivering capital to support the debt and equity platforms and align with the company's corporate vision
Supporting various business leaders to meet the capital needs of their specific businesses to support growth and needs of those functional areas
Work with businesses on asset disposition as well as refinancings and ensuring alignment with corporate goals for capital allocation, revenue generation and business growth
Partner with the CFO and CRO as well as business leaders to structure and create market clearing products to support impact in communities and business growth
Conduct thorough due diligence on prospective opportunities including qualitative and quantitative analysis of investment strategy, risk, process, organization, portfolio positions and performance
Lead the Trading Desk as the primary clearing agent for all originated loans and build it out to encompass moving paper and securities
Gather and assess information from internal/external sources to determine how to incorporate into financial models so pricing and structuring of products reflects continued market dynamics
Work closely with CEO and CFO on strategic decisions regarding capital and liquidity planning
Liaise with leadership of the business units to analyze and assess strategic alternatives to include acquisitions, partnership arrangements or potential investments as they arise
Maintain a high-quality network of investment thought-leaders and managers and an ability to access those resources for sourcing, manager evaluation and reference checking purposes
Key requirements:
MBA or BA/BS in Economics, Finance, Real Estate or related field required. MA/MS preferred but not essential
Deep knowledge and experience in the debt and equity capital markets, with an understanding and passion of affordable housing and multifamily investments
Demonstrated ability to raise debt and/or equity capital for various businesses
Expert understanding of corporate structures and real estate strategy
Strong collaborative approach to problem solving
Strategic thinker and proficient in decision-making
Ability to communicate effectively and in a professional manner
Demonstrated expertise in corporate strategy
Demonstrated leadership skills managing investment staff with an emphasis on team building, development, motivation, retention and commitment to diversity and inclusion
Compensation: $200,000 - $250,000 base salary + 15- 30% bonus + benefits
The above salary range represents Cobalt's good faith and reasonable estimate of the possible base compensation range at the time of posting and is one part of the total rewards package this client provides to employees.
