Staff Accountant

A growing affordable housing developer is looking for a Staff Accountant to join the team in Westchester County. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for supporting the Senior Accountant in the preparation of GAAP basic financial statements for partnerships within the real estate portfolio. The Corporate Accountant will also provide support in the preparation of annual operating budgets and budget variance analysis.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Process monthly general ledger closing, prepare to adjust journal entries, and update all monthly work papers, including payroll and fringes, fixed asset and depreciation, insurance expense, and other accrued expenses
• Enter and generate monthly payroll journal entries.
• Maintain health insurance allocation database and generate monthly invoices for AP entry
• Reconcile intercompany accounts
• Prepare monthly bank reconciliations
• Prepare annual operating budgets
• Support the Director of Accounting with corporate work papers and other ad hoc projects as needed.
• Assist with AP functions as assigned

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting from an accredited four-year college
• 1 to 2 years of related experience with property management and/or non-profit accounting
• Covid-19 vaccination is required
• Experience with MRI is a plus.

The Fair market assumption for this role is between $60,000 - $70,000
