We are working closely with an established, ambitious and well-resourced commercial property investment and development business. Headquartered in Auckland, their sizeable, high-quality portfolio encompasses investments in office, industrial and marina-based assets in New Zealand and Australia. In line with future growth and with an ongoing focus on corporate governance, an opportunity is available for an experienced Finance Manager to join the team in a newly created position.

The Finance Manager will be responsible for leading a small finance team to prepare robust, accurate management information, meet statutory reporting obligations and tax compliance. Key responsibilities will include providing strategic analysis, compilation of annual budgets and elevating capabilities for long term financial forecasting. This is a varied hands-on role which is also responsible for ensuring that an adequate control structure is in place.

Initially, the Finance Manager role will primarily be involved in two key projects; the implementation of a new fully integrated Property Management system and development of an excel based forecasting tool.

We would be very interested to speak with suitable candidates, who have gained experience in a similar role. You will likely be a CA qualified (or equivalent) finance professional with at least 7-10 years' experience, gained either in commercial finance roles or potentially from a professional services environment. Property sector experience will be very highly regarded. In addition to your technical abilities, the role will require good leadership skills, both in terms of managing and motivating a small team of accountants, as well as in overseeing robust stakeholder relationships. You'll be commercially aware and be able to challenge and influence decision making at all levels.
