About the role

As an Associate Director in Project Management, you will be given the opportunity to further establish a high performing brand and assist in building and developing a team to help grow the success of the overall business. You will oversee day-to-day operations of the team, as they successfully deliver end to end projects across different asset classes. The role will be a split between delivery, but more focused on business development and team management where you will play a key part in achieving the growth strategy for the year and on wards. This role will be a support to the success of your client facing Project Managers out in the industry, and will include client development and growth accountability throughout the Auckland regions and nationwide.

This role will challenge a Senior Project Manager or Associate to step up and test their delivery and management skills, otherwise give a new direction to an already established Associate Director in breaking into new sectors of consultancy delivery whilst managing and developing a team to great heights. In this role your responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and implement new business development plans and projects
  • Understand life cycle costs and scope and have key technical understanding of construction methodologies and contracts
  • Be able to conduct investigations, compile business cases with prioritisation and implement strategy plans
  • Be able to understand the value in relationships for delivery of units in a timely fashion
  • Oversee the direction and approach towards all aspects of each project from concept to completion
  • Manage project team structure and resources, project plans, strategies, scope of work, quality and more
  • Work as part of the leadership team, working on cross category initiatives to improve the overall business performance
  • Liaise with stakeholders and proactively identify potential customers at a variety of levels, for business opportunities
  • Monitor compliance and relevant internal and external statutory and regulatory requirements
  • Provide day to day management
  • Proactively identify and manage key stakeholder relationships

To be successful in this role you will need

  • Have a strong portfolio in delivering end to end projects at a Senior level
  • Thorough knowledge of NZ Building Code and NZ Standards
  • Have ability to coach, mentor and train to enhance team performance
  • Industry related tertiary qualification
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills
  • Be able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong local stakeholder experience
  • Ability to function in a growing, fast paced business that is maturing

You will need to be currently in New Zealand to interview, have a valid New Zealand visa and experience in the local market.
