Associate/Senior Cost Manager
$150,000 - $200,000

I am working on a role for a well-renowned construction company with a presence that spans across all major markets. They have been established for over 200 years and have seen huge success enabling them to grow into the brand they are today. They are a leading, independently owned company specializing in cost management, project management, quantity surveying and advisory services.

They are looking for an Associate/Senior Cost Manager to join its existing client-focused team. The role requires the successful applicant to oversee project costs from the inception to completion, ensuring the company standards are upheld to the client's satisfaction. You will be liaising with clients, designers, and consultants to make certain the goals of the project are achieved.

Staff management will also be key in this position as you would be expected to mentor and guide more junior members of staff with potential 1 or more direct reports.

The key responsibilities:

  • Manage the execution of commissions, including directly managing staff within the core service section, fee budgets and section and project profitability.
  • Manage estimating services for the full project by developing project cost plans estimates (relating to construction, fees, direct work and other costs)
  • Advising client on strategies, managing pre-qualification of vendors, assessing proposals, bids, and bid leveling documents, making final recommendations to the client, attending & chairing bid interviews, and managing appointment process
  • Assist with Request for Proposal (RFP) process by preparing documents, releasing RFPs, arranging mid-bid interviews, and creating bid analysis sheets; draft reports, memos, and letters of recommendation to management and client
  • Perform all the duties above through the use/preparation of Cost Estimating Software, Bid Analysis Sheets, and Change Control Forms
