Due to ongoing planned and strategic growth, a specialist privately owned Main Contractor is seeking to attract a Senior Quantity Surveyor to their high performing team.
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, your first task will be to manage all commercial matter on a £9m project under the NEC form of contract. You will be the number one Quantity Surveyor on site and work closely with the onsite Project Manager, whilst reporting to an off site Divisional Commercial Manager.
The role would perhaps suit an individual who is looking to step into a Senior role and spread their own wings. Equally, an established Senior Quantity Surveyor who is tired of being another number in a faceless corporation would relish this opportunity.
Why consider this opportunity?
There is a clear career path on offer with the vision being that you move into a business commercial role in line with strategic targeted growth. You could find yourself responsible for this division within 2 years.
Our client will be fully dedicated to your professional development. They are affiliated with the ICES and would actively encourage you to attain Chartership if desired, as well as being more than happy to sponsor further academic learning.
They offer an extremely friendly and flexible approach which will give you the freedom to perform to the best of your abilities, with no micro management and a culture built on trust of delivery.
If you enjoy travelling, then this is an opportunity that you should not pass on. Our client has delivered projects in 50 separate countries. Your chance to see the world and have someone else pay for it!
What will you be doing
-Administering the project in line with the contract
-Forecasting and reporting monthly (cost v value)
-Managing all change in line with the contractual terms
-Subcontract management and procurement
-Managing client and other stakeholder relationships
-Producing contractual paperwork and correspondence
-Other duties as required
What you will need
-An HNC / HND / Degree (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying / Commercial Management OR demonstrable experience in a Quantity Surveying role with a non-cognate degree
-Demonstrable experience in working on infrastructure projects under the NEC form of contract
-The right behaviours; you'll need to be self-motivated, hands on, tenacious, committed and team focused
-Flexibility; you must be willing to travel and stay away from home during the week
