Our client is a highly regarded, global multidisciplinary consultancy with expertise across the infrastructure, buildings, water, environmental and development sectors. Due to unprecedented growth following the first half of 2018, and an ever-increasing forward pipeline of work, they are seeking to attract a highly experienced Town Planner to the position of Technical Director. This role will find you responsible for leading and driving the growth of the Environmental & Planning team in the North West.
In the role of Technical Director, you will drive all stages of the consenting process, play a key role on some of UK's most complex projects including major regeneration, energy, infrastructure schemes & strategic land optimisation and garden city projects.
A large part of your role will be driving the growth of a team in the North West, both in terms of resourcing and business growth, demonstrated through your strong commercial mind-set and ability to grow strong, long-lasting client relationships. You will also lead the preparation and submission of planning applications and DCO's.
As a strong people leader and highly experienced manager, you will be responsible for mentoring and developing a high performing, multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities will include:
-Take the lead on the technical delivery of projects,
-Project management of multi-disciplinary commissions
-Providing advice to clients and other disciplines on the planning consents process
-Develop consent strategies to minimise project risk
-Establish strong relationships with clients and other stakeholders
-Ensure planning advice complies with planning law, regulation and best practice
-Assist in the development, promotion and implementation of company technical strategies
-Promote the Planning team capability
-Recruit and mentor planning professionals to grow a highly performing team
To be successful as a Technical Director you must possess the following:
-Chartered Member of RTPI
-Town Planning degree - essential
-Proven experience leading and mentoring multidisciplinary teams
-A keen interest in building and maintaining strong client relationships
