Join New Zealand's leading litigation firm
Competition law is a dynamic and interesting area of the law that ensures the market functions effectively on the basis of fair and open competition. MC has a great opportunity for an intermediate level litigator to join its progressive Competition team with a focus on Fair Trading, CCFFA and competition law work. MC has a blended practice which means that you will always have exposure to some prosecution work, ensuring you're getting your own files into court on a regular basis.
You will be mentored by two highly regarded competition law partners and a senior prosecution partner who will provide you with varied work across a blended competition and court based prosecution practice. You will be fully immersed in complex and high profile litigation cases where you can gain experience running some of your own court files straight away.
Ideally you will have:
- 2+ years legal experience within the commercial litigation or competition law team of a well-regarded practice
- A demonstrable interest in litigation and competition law work
- A good university academic record
Not only will the court work provide you with the opportunity to develop your skills as a well-rounded litigator but you'll also have bespoke ongoing internal training and development opportunities – both on a practical and theoretical level so that you can become an expert court litigator.
You may currently be in a competition law or commercial litigation role but missing the opportunity to get into court; likewise you may now be interested in carrying out competition work from the regulator's perspective – whichever the case, get in touch with us to find out more about this unique opportunity.
