Assistant Planner & Planner

Manchester

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Planner and a Planner to join the Planning & Development team of an established Property consultancy in Manchester. My client is going through a period of growth due to a significant increase in workload.

Our client undertakes a challenging and varied workload for clients including house-builders, retailers, developers, housing associations, local authorities and public-sector frameworks. The appointed Assistant Planner and Planner will become integral team members, exposed to a number of exciting projects across the UK. Although you will work predominantly within the North West, your role will allow you to work collaboratively with national planning colleagues throughout the national offices (Leeds, Newcastle, London etc).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drafting, submitting and monitoring planning applications.
  • Undertaking research and formulating reports.
  • Site appraisals.
  • Drafting policy representations.
  • Liaising with clients and Local Authorities.
  • Drafting Design & Access Statements and Planning Statements.

The Assistant Planner must have a post-graduate degree that is RTPI accredited and ideally possess experience of working within a consultancy or local authority. The Planner must be a chartered member of the RTPI. Strong communication skills are required for this role as you will need to liaise with clients and attend various networking events. My client offers a strong remuneration package, private healthcare, pension, APC support, car allowance (dependent on seniority) and continued career progression.
