About the Role
Responsibilities:
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations to ensure accurate financial records.
- Create and maintain monthly financial reports for management review.
- Perform a quarterly general ledger audit to ensure accuracy in our books across the portfolios
- Compile statistical, financial, and accounting reports related to cash receipts, expenditures, accounts payable/receivable, and profit/loss analysis.
- Prepare journal entries and assist in annual audits.
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and the business plan.
- Classify, record, and summarize financial transactions in compliance with company procedures.
- Check figures, postings, and documents for accuracy and correct codes.
- Debit, credit, and total accounts using accounting software and spreadsheets.
- Code and verify documentation according to company policy.
- Access and utilize computerized financial systems for account inquiries and reporting.
- Maintain and file financial records, both electronic and physical.
- Review tenant leases and process billing in accordance with lease terms.
- Assist in completing annual CAM (Common Area Maintenance), tax, and insurance reconciliations.
- Monitor and ensure timely payment of real estate taxes and assessments.
- Monitor and pay annual report filings and business license fees across various states.
- Ensure ongoing compliance with all applicable bank, mortgage, federal, and state regulations.
- Perform general office duties such as answering phones, filing, and handling routine correspondence.
- Work with banking institutions to open and manage new accounts.
- Support ad hoc accounting projects and responsibilities as needed.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- 3+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience, property management, and commercial real estate background are a plus
- Proficient with accounting or bookkeeping software, MRI system experience preferred
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word
- Excellent communication skills ; team-oriented with a passion for learning and contributing

The Fair market Assumption for this role's base salary is between $75000 and $90000 annually.
The above salary range represents Cobalt's good faith and reasonable estimate of the possible base compensation range at the time of posting and is one part of the total rewards package this client provides to employees.
