Accounts Payable Specialist

Responsibilities

• Manage the Accounts Payable process from invoice receipt through payment, including coding, data entry, approvals, and weekly check runs.
• Review invoices against contracts and supporting documentation to ensure accuracy.
• Process vendor payments through the company's banking platform and maintain vendor relationships.
• Prepare billing analyses and intercompany allocations.
• Reconcile and process accounts payable activity, including corporate credit cards and other operating expenses.
• Assist with month-end close by preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and reviewing trial balances.
• Support cash management activities, including monitoring cash balances and funding requirements.
• Reconcile intercompany transactions, operating expenses, payroll activity, and reimbursements.
• Prepare payroll funding entries and related accounting schedules.
• Assist with benefits accounting, payroll reconciliations, 1099 preparation, payroll tax reconciliations, and workers' compensation true-ups.
• Support annual audits, tax preparation, budgeting, and other special accounting projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
• 3+ years of accounting or accounts payable experience.
• Experience with ERP/accounting software (Yardi experience is a plus).
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Strong understanding of accounts payable processes, reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and time management skills.
• High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
