About the Role
We're hiring a Construction Estimator to bid on commercial ground-up work in Manhattan. Must have strong estimating skills, industry contacts, and be willing to travel for site visits. Competitive pay, solid team, and room to grow.
Responsibilities
Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for commercial construction projects.
Review architectural and structural drawings to understand the full scope of work.
Use your network and client relationships to support bidding efforts.
Complete quantity takeoffs and apply unit pricing to evaluate subcontractor quotes.
Identify trade scopes and contact the right subcontractors for pricing.
Visit each job site before submitting a bid.
Work with the estimating team to ensure all bid packages are complete and accurate.
Share bid progress and updates during weekly team meetings.
Assist with reviewing and negotiating change orders and project updates.
Keep organized records and backup documents for all estimates.
Qualifications
7+ years of experience in construction estimating, preffered candidates with commercial ground-up projects.
Strong network of industry contacts and proven client relationships.
Willingness and ability to travel for site visits (driver's license and access to a car recommended).
Solid understanding of architectural and structural systems.
Skilled in Microsoft Excel, Word, and estimating software tools.
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred.
Able to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
