HVAC Working Foreman - Prevailing Wage

Growing NYC MEP contractor is hiring an HVAC Working Foreman with strong refrigeration and VRF experience. You will work alongside your crew on commercial and institutional job sites across the NYC metro area, including NYCHA projects. This is a hands-on role. You lead by example on the tools while owning job quality and crew coordination.

What you will do:

• Perform and direct full VRF and refrigerant system installations: piping, brazing, pressure testing, vacuum, charge, wiring, and startup
• Braze copper refrigerant lines with continuous nitrogen purge
• Troubleshoot refrigerant, electrical, control, and mechanical faults across commercial HVAC systems
• Read and follow mechanical and wiring diagrams
• Install line and low voltage for HVAC and VRF systems per NEC code
• Direct 1 to 2 helpers on active job sites; provide on-the-job coaching
• Maintain daily records of work completed and materials used

What we are looking for:

• 5 or more years of commercial HVAC and refrigeration experience
• Proven hands-on ability: brazing, pressure testing, pulling vacuum to 500 microns, refrigerant charging
• VRF system experience required; mini-split experience required
• Manufacturer certifications strongly preferred: Daikin, Mitsubishi, LG, Fujitsu
• EPA 608 Universal certification required
• OSHA 30 and NYC SST card (40-hour) required
• Ability to read commercial mechanical and wiring diagrams
• Valid driver's license required
• NYCHA or prevailing wage project experience a plus

Compensation: Up to $120/hr on prevailing wage projects.
