Purchasing Agent - Construction

Salary: $60,000 - $100,000

Responsibilities

• Make sure we buy the right steel, parts, and hardware at the right time based on drawings and schedules.
• Talk to suppliers, get quotes, compare prices, and keep track of delivery times.
• Check in with estimators, project managers, and shop leads to make sure what we're buying fits the job.
• Watch material levels in the shop, plan deliveries so nothing is late, and solve any shipping problems.
• Support the team by helping schedule work and making sure materials are staged properly to keep the shop running smoothly.
• Create purchase orders and keep records of prices, delivery dates, and what was received.
• Make sure the stuff we buy meets job and code requirements, like finishes or certifications.
• Keep an eye on costs and look for ways to save money by finding better deals or vendors.
• Work with field crews to make sure materials show up when and where they're needed, especially on tight job sites.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience in purchasing
• Experience in the construction industry
• Highschool diploma or GED
• General knowledge of steel
• Associate or bachelor's degree in construction management of supply chain are a plus
