About the Role
Key Responsibilities
- Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
- Perform detailed balance sheet reconciliations and investigate outstanding items
- Assist with financial statement preparation and general ledger analysis
- Handle bank reconciliations, cash activity, and cash management functions
- Partner with Accounts Payable and internal departments to ensure accurate coding and timely processing of transactions
- Assist with audit requests, supporting documentation, and reporting requirements
- Support multi-entity accounting activities and inter company transactions
- Maintain organized backup documentation and support schedules for accounting processes
- Research discrepancies and proactively resolve accounting issues
- Assist with process improvements and optimization of accounting workflows and month-end close procedures
- Work cross-functionally with project management, operations, and leadership teams as needed
- Exposure to construction-related accounting processes including job costing, lien waivers, AIA billing documentation, and project close-out procedures is a plus
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- 2+ years of accounting experience within public accounting and/or industry
- Strong understanding of month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Ability to analyze balance sheet accounts and understand supporting backup documentation
- Experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to prioritize deadlines and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously
- Experience with accounting systems; Sage Intact experience is a plus
- CPA or CPA-track is a plus
- Construction or real estate accounting exposure is beneficial but not required
