Originally from London, I started my recruitment career in Australia in 2015 before relocating to New York in 2019. Now, as Managing Director of Cobalt's New York office, I oversee our US Real Estate, Construction, and Finance & Accounting practices — placing mid to senior professionals into real estate, construction, PE-backed businesses, and tech companies across the country.I've spent over a decade in recruitment, and the part I still find genuinely rewarding hasn't changed: helping people make the right move at the right time and helping companies build teams that actually last. I take both sides of that equation seriously.Outside of work, I'm a passionate soccer fan, an annual snowboarder, and someone who's always planning the next trip somewhere new.

Talent and expansion After graduating from the University of Kent with a degree in History, I jumped into the recruitment world. My job is to grow the business by sourcing, meeting, and hiring new talent into Cobalt. As our culture is at the heart of the company it’s important that our standards are upheld when hiring. We have exciting plans to expand the company this year and I am looking for motivated individuals to join our high performing specialist team.Cobalt’s unlimited annual leave is right up my street as I am a total sun seeker, I love to travel as much as I can, learn about different cultures and divulge in all the local cuisines as well as having to use a good SPF for obvious reasons. If you want to hear more about some of our perks and benefits, get in touch!

Imogen Dodd

Over the course of my career in recruitment my focus has been primarily on Finance and Accounting. Helping businesses recruitment efforts ranging from entry level thru Executive leadership, I have been able to help so many professionals find their new “home”.When people ask what I do, it’s also impossible to say in a few words. We do so much more than screen resumes, we become career coaches, market consultants, and build ever lasting relationships. All of this allows us to help people and business reach new heights.I can truly say that every conversation is different, whether I am speaking to a Staff Accountant, Controller or CFO- the excitement never goes away. The excitement in a person voice when you truly helped them solve a problem is what I enjoy the most. When I’m not in the office you can find me at the beach, pretending to be the “Cool Uncle” and watching every and any football game on TV.

Michael Ahern

I'm a recruiter specializing in placing construction professionals in the New York area. I’ve earned my reputation as a trusted recruitment partner, by developing transparent relationships and representing high quality professionals in permanent and interim positions across the built environment and beyond.Cobalt unlocks the true potential of recruitment by delivering a top-notch recruiting experience, from initial sourcing and screening through offer negotiations, placements, and onboarding because we understand the importance of finding the perfect match.Getting positive feedback from a client who’s hired my candidate(s) and loves the impact that they’ve had on their business. Finding the perfect fit is extremely rewarding and I love playing a part in driving the process forward. In my free time I stay active and play music. I’m big into soccer - they call me Messi on the pitch – and I’ll go skateboarding or play basketball casually. I’m always up for some friendly competition, loser pays for brews.

Samuel Levine

Executive Consultant - Construction & Development

Over the course of my 15-year career my focus has been dedicated to civil and environmental engineering, construction, IT, architecture, and Real Estate. From entry-level thru executive-level retained search, I have been able to pinpoint the tangible and intangible factors that ensure a successful placement. Manage full-cycle recruiting from initial sourcing and screening through offer negotiations and onboarding for Construction and Real Estate professionals. Working with industry leading Developers and General Contractors, my goal is to understand their specific needs and identify creative ways to deliver talent that will continue to drive their business. The sound of a candidate’s voice when they accept an offer. Even when they try not to be excited, you can sense the feeling of accomplishment. It’s just like that one incredibly hit golf ball during a terrible round that makes you want to play again. With three young children, I do not have time for personal interests. I imagine they would be exhilarating, but my “free time” is dedicated to watching and the transportation to and from an endless array of little league, dance, soccer, basketball, boys/girl scouts, football, ice skating, etc. etc.

Brian Harvey

Having worked in Collections for the past two years, I have gained valuable experience and financial knowledge that I can bring to Cobalt Recruitment.I work alongside the Finance and Accounting team at Cobalt, specializing in Real Estate and Construction. We are eager to match top talent across the financial market. The people. Being able to have a positive change in someone’s life is what brings me to work every day. Whether for a potential client or candidate, having that direct impact is the most rewarding aspect of this position. As a professional, I am dedicated to my work, but I also value my personal life. Having grown up in Tennessee and recently moved to NYC, I am excited to explore everything the city has to offer. I enjoy spending time with family and friends, trying new food, and traveling. These experiences enrich my life and contribute to my professional growth.
