Position Summary

The Assistant Project Manager will provide support to project management staff and superintendents on multifamily residential projects.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Detailed review and processing of project submittals.
  • Develop and maintain material tracking logs.
  • Research, develop and write detailed RFI's.
  • Coordinate with design team for efficient responses to submittals and RFI's.
  • Manage changes to, and ensure proper distribution of, construction documents and/or project scope
  • to ensure that the most current documents are being used.
  • Coordinate with project team to ensure materials are available when needed on site.
  • Skills/Knowledge/Experience
  • Possess a solid knowledge of plans, specifications, RFI's, submittals and other project-related documents.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to deal professionally with clients, vendors, and co-worker on the phone and in person.
  • Ability to problem solve, generate, and maintain tracking lists.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, ability to take initiative, use good judgment, demonstrate a strong sense of urgency and attention to detail, and carry multiple assignments through to completion.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, prioritize work and ask for further clarification when necessary.
  • Ability to work under pressure with tight time constraints, as well as the ability to deal with frequent interruptions, unresolved situations, frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.
  • Competent with project management software and computer proficient.

Education and Experience

  • 5 years' experience working on commercial construction projects.
  • 4-year college degree
  • Procore is a plus

Preferred Qualifications

  • College degree in construction management, engineering, or architecture
  • Experience with multifamily project
