Our client is a leading national General Contractor across several industries, from Health care to Commercial and Retail. They are unique among commercial contractors as they assign one team to a project from start to finish. They are seeking talented Assistant Project Managers to assist with new and ongoing Health care projects in Ocean County, NJ.

Overview

The Role: Assistant Project Manager

Health care and Commercial Interior Construction

  • Oversight and management of project teams delivering health care and commercial construction projects, integrating all disciplines as the primary point of contact. This role is based in Toms River NJ.

The Person:

  • Four-year college degree required. A degree in Construction or Engineering is preferred
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Procore Construction Mgmt software preferred but not required. We will train.
  • OSHA 10 hr is acceptable with OSHA 30 hour being preferred. We can train to OSHA 30 if needed.

Leadership

  • Lead subcontractor meetings
  • Work closely with the project team to help resolve field and office issues
  • Exhibit ability to run a project start to finish, inclusive of financial management
  • Must be punctual and timely, willing to work and perform as requested
  • Must be self-starter and able to work on their own with minimal oversight
  • Will be expected to cover and support after hours operations as required

Estimating

  • Proficient and accurate with quantity take off software
  • Assist in budget efforts conducted by project management team
  • Lead solicitation of subcontractor bids for new projects

Cost Control

  • Keep track of daily unit costs in the field, track costs for gain-loss reporting
  • Learn subcontractor costs and unit rates
  • Scheduling
  • Lead field team development and documentation of 4-week look ahead schedules
  • Work with subcontractors to maintain job site schedules
  • Track materials and routinely update material tracking log

Safety

  • Promote safety culture within company and to subcontractors
  • Maintain safety habits by conducting weekly audits and documenting near-misses
  • Help lead the superintendent team in job site safety meetings
  • Lead safety investigations and documentation of recordable accidents
  • Investigate safety records of all subcontractors on site

Construction Meetings

  • Take meeting minutes at all meetings, prepare draft and send out to project team for review
  • Develop and coordinate meeting agendas at job site

Documentation

  • Lead submittal and RFI process
  • Participate in the drafting of subcontractor scope sheets
  • Track man-hours in the field submitted by the field staff team
  • Proficient in drafting and writing letters
