Chief Engineer
Location: Brooklyn, NY

Performs management of overall HVAC Plant Management of on-site commercial building operations, managing staff and maintaining all existing MEP systems.

Required Experience:

  • COF- Q01 Refrigeration Engineer with 7 years of industry experience or equivalent industrial experience including at least 3 years management and/or leadership experience.

  • Operating and Maintenance experience with Centrifugal Chiller Systems, Absorption Chiller Systems and Boiler Hot Water Systems including an operable knowledge of Building Management Systems (BMS) required.

  • Responsible for aspects of plant operations which requires a strong working knowledge of plant safety practices, procedures, and requirements.

  • Conduct daily Plant inspections and proactively maintain all plant equipment including mechanical, electrical and controls. Must be mechanically adept to perform rudimentary MEPS repairs when required. An ability to troubleshoot Plant equipment is a plus.

  • Reports to and supports Building Property Manager and Director of Property Management in order to elevate any operating and/or maintenance issues when necessary.

  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner to facilitate positive relationships with staff Operating Engineers with the goal of properly maintaining and operating the Plant.

  • Proven ability to work efficiently and effectively balancing multiple priorities and tasks while remaining organized and focused in a high-pressure environment.

  • Knowledge of FDNY/DOB and DEP regulations.

  • Assist in preparing annual operating budgets. Review expenses on a monthly basis in order to promptly pay invoices in a timely manner. Will assist in identifying cost overruns when required.
