Title: Chief Estimator/Purchasing Manager

Location: Westchester County, NY

Compensation: $175,000 - $250,000 Base + Bonus + Benefits

Our client is a full service general construction firm, specializing in multifamily projects. Their extensive portfolio consists of ground up new construction ranging from $1M to $200M. They are seeking a talented Chief Estimator to help them with a variety or professional estimating duties relayed to developing estimates and procuring work at their office in Westchester County NY.

The Role:

  • Prepare take-off & pricing for a variety of ground up residential construction opportunities, by reviewing, interpreting, and accurately estimating scope of work as outlined in project documents.
  • Pilot thorough analysis of drawings and specifications by researching selected products from a cost and constructability perspective.
  • Attend Pre-bid meetings where value engineering options and costs, as well as estimating productions and scheduling are provided and presented.
  • Perform detailed project cost estimate using company estimating software.
  • Compose and oversee all aspects of estimating including; pre-construction, hard bids, negotiated bids, budgets, value engineering, subcontractor bidding and general conditions.
  • Work collaboratively with owner and Project Managers to ensure flawless project delivery.

The Person:

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum 8 years' experience estimating and in the construction industry.
  • Relevant project experience in both public and commercial work
  • Strong relationships with Sub-Contractors across Westchester county
  • Experience with estimating software.
  • Ability to negotiate throughout the bidding process.
  • Team player with a positive attitude who can also work independently, is self-motivated and success driven, yet able and willing to take direction.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
