Industry leading general contractor in search of a highly proficient, organized, and team-oriented professional capable of executing tasks efficiently in a dynamic construction environment. The role necessitates expertise in design phase coordination, on-field experience, cost projection, and managing subcontractor acquisition for fixed-price and Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) engagements.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Liaise effectively with property stakeholders and the Design team, providing constructive direction for the design phase from a construction standpoint.
  • Review and complement documentation during conceptualization, design development, and construction document phases.
  • Spearhead the creation of logistical site plans in collaboration with the construction field team and coordinate with external entities to develop a mandated Site Safety Plan compliant with the Department of Building regulations.
  • Collaborate with the cost estimation team to formulate comprehensive project estimates.
  • Utilize On-Screen take-off proficiently to execute detailed take-offs across all project constituents, including foundations, structure façade, interiors, and Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems, thereby enhancing the productivity of the cost estimation team.
  • Consistently seek and incorporate feedback to devise strategies aimed at cost reduction in construction processes.
  • Routinely perform value-engineering examinations on blueprints, specifications, and construction materials, and provide informed recommendations to senior management.
  • Regularly explore innovative building products and techniques prevalent in the industry, and evaluate their potential benefits for our organization.
  • Oversee the procurement phase in collaboration with the estimation and purchasing team.
  • Coordinate closely with the Contract Administrator to ensure completion and signing of subcontracts.

Required Technical Proficiencies:

  • An attention to detail, proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, and familiarity with On-Screen software is beneficial.
  • The ability to interpret and understand plans and specifications.
  • Prior experience in performing detailed quantity take-offs from blueprints.
  • Prior on-field experience as a project manager or superintendent.
  • Familiarity with Pro-core software is desirable.

Education and Experience:

An undergraduate degree in Engineering, Construction Engineering, or Construction Management is preferred, coupled with 8-10 years of experience in the construction industry. However, a combination of relevant education and experience may also be considered.
