Senior Finance Manager ~ Real Estate, Commercial, Public, REIT

New York, NY

$150,000 Base + Bonus + Benefits

Our client is an internationally recognized Owner/Operator with in excess of $65B AUM across the world. They have a diverse portfolio consisting primarily of commercial, retail, data center, logistics, and industrial assets, and are actively and continually investing and acquiring additional properties.

The role:

  • Reporting to Financial Controller
  • Oversee US portfolio and team of Finance Managers
  • Reviewing budgets, including staffing, work plans, and fee structures.
  • Providing project managers and clients with timely financial reports and budgets, as well as project forecasts.
  • Preparing pre-billing reports for project managers to review.
  • Preparing actual costs, working capital, and tax reports.
  • Review accounts prepared by the property managers/operators/outsourced agents before completing the entity level closing
  • Ensuring a steady cash flow by generating, auditing, and sending invoices in a timely manner.
  • Updating contracts according to client requirements and reporting associated budget amendments.

In order to be considered for this role, you must have:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, as well as Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • 10+ years of Finance Management experience ideally in the real estate industry. Public and/or REIT experience is HIGHLY preferred, as well as AUDITING
  • Lead teams of direct reports and personally oversee more Junior finance associates
  • Proficiency in electronic accounting systems, i.e.: MRI, Yardi
  • Advanced proficiency in managing general ledgers, journal entries, variance analysis, consolidation and account reconciliations.
  • In-depth knowledge of best practices in corporate level property accounting.
