Senior Property Accountant

A well-known Real estate developer based in Bergen County, New Jersey, is looking to hire a Senior Property accountant immediately. The Senior Property Accountant will be responsible for accounting for a group of residential properties within a region.

RESPONSIBILITIES

· Maintained the accrual books for Residential Properties. Includes online approval of invoice coding, recording journal entries, preparing work papers, and following monthly closing procedures.

· Assists management in the budget process. Includes interfacing with management for assumptions, preparing budget report templates for assigned properties, and inputting budgets into the accounting system.

· operating reports for management every month, including written variance analysis.

· Assists management team in preparing for and attending monthly meetings to discuss selected financial information.

· Works closely with the accounts payable bookkeeper and management to ensure proper coding of costs and to understand operating results.

· Assist with special projects.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

· Bachelor's degree is required.

· A minimum of 5 years of Residential Property Accounting experience is required.

· Experience in Yardi is preferred.

· Advanced proficiency in VLOOKUP and pivot tables

· Knowledge of essential tax treatment associated with residential real estate is a plus.

The fair market assumption for this role is between $100,000- $120,000 annually.
