Location: London and the South East
Remuneration: 65,000 - 70,000 per annum with excellent benefits package including profit share bonus, company car or car allowance with fuel card, defined contribution pension and 25 days holiday

An innovative, privately owned and award-winning Principle Contractor is seeking to attract a commercially astute Project Manager to their organisation.

Reporting into the Construction Director you will be responsible for managing the profitable delivery of several projects running concurrently, with construction values generally sitting in the 250k - 6m bracket and administered via the NEC or bespoke forms of contract. Projects typically involve piling, earthworks, small structures and bridges under construct only and design & build.

With an excellent reputation and a long, and profitable, trading history they are in an enviable position of being incredibly selective with the opportunities they pursue, in both the public and private sectors.

You will be working closely with a dynamic and pragmatic Construction Director whose management style is based on building mutual trust and understanding, with a focus on delivering. This will give you flexibility in terms of time management and allow you to balance work and life commitments. There is a real family feel to the business and you will be known personally from CEO down.

As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for:
-The overall success of the project, reaching set targets across safety, quality and profit
-Planning and programming
-Management of the design and construction phases
-Development of project plan, incorporating all necessary paperwork
-Ensure all required permits and licenses are in place
-Monthly project performance reporting
-Client relationship management and work winning
-Delegation to the Site team and their day to day management
-Risk and opportunity management
-Budget and cost management, working closely with the commercial team

To be successful in this role, it is anticipated that you:
-Hold a further qualification in Civil Engineering, either an HND or Degree (or equivalent)
-Hold demonstrable experience of operating as a Project Manager in the civil engineering sector
-Have a technical understanding of working in and around rivers and tides
-Be a self-starter and be used to working with minimal support
-Have experience of managing self-performed scope, working with direct labour and plant
-Have a proven ability to delivery profit
-Want to be fully empowered
