Accountant

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain full books and records for ~15 real estate partnerships, including rent rolls, mortgages, fixed assets, intercompany transactions, and financial reporting.
• Manage general ledger accounting for affiliated service companies (management, maintenance, security), including payroll, management fees, expenses, and reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements, balance sheets, and supporting work papers.
• Perform reconciliations and elimination entries for intercompany transactions across multiple entities.
• Assist in preparing audit packages and responding to external auditor requests.
• Support annual reporting and lender/regulatory requirements.
• Prepare schedules for prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and mortgage statements.
• Contribute to budgeting and spreadsheet analysis as needed.
• Provide documentation to auditors and assist in audit readiness.
• Maintain familiarity with tax reporting concepts (1065, K-1, 1120S). Direct tax return preparation is not required, but understanding how accounting flows into tax filings is preferred.

Qualifications

• 3-7 years of accounting experience in either public accounting (audit) or private industry; real estate experience preferred.
• Strong general ledger experience with the ability to prepare full financials and supporting work papers.
• Experience in partnership and/or corporate accounting; intercompany reconciliations a plus.
• Exposure to audits (CPA firm, HUD, insurance, or lender) preferred.
• CPA or CPA-track candidates strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of affordable housing, government programs, or multifamily real estate accounting a plus.
• Software: RealPage experience strongly preferred; proficiency in Excel required.

The Fair market Assumption for this role's base salary is between $90,000 and $110,000 annually.
